This information is provided below and it is important that you read that information and, if you wish to use our services and access our CCD Platform, you must confirm that you have read and accept this Notice.

When we refer to "you" in this document we mean any visitor to our website and/or platform which will include, our Chime Chare Partners (caregivers), potential and actual customers, suppliers and other people looking for information about our services.

The information below is also the policy we follow when processing your personal data.  So, if you do not accept this notice/our policy, you will not be able to access the CCD Platform.

Once you provide consent by selecting "YES", you may change your mind and withdraw consent at any time by contacting us via contact@chimecare.co.uk  or phone 02080499776 (ext 2115) but that will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent.

Also, it will not affect any processing of your personal data which we do based on another lawful basis, for example if we have entered into a contract to provide you with services.  If you enter into a contract with us to provide you with care services we will no longer be relying on consent as the lawful basis for our processing of your personal data.

Chime Care Limited is the 'controller' and is responsible for your personal data (collectively referred to as "Chime" or, "we", "us" or "our" in this policy).

Our Chime Care Partners (or "Caregivers") access and process your personal data only using the CCD Platform and they are each a 'processor' of your personal data.  We have entered into a written agreement with each of our Chime Care Partners to ensure that your personal data is processed only in accordance with data protection legislation and this policy.

We have appointed a data protection officer (DPO). If you have any questions about this privacy policy, please contact them using the details set out below.

We are always keen to improve our services and welcome any feedback on this policy and our compliance with it.  However, if we cannot resolve any issues with you directly relating to our processing of personal data you always have the right to make a complaint at any time to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection issues.

We keep our privacy policy under regular review.

This version was last updated on 17 April 2023. It may change and if it does, these changes will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you when you next log onto the CCD Platform. The new policy may be displayed on screen and you may be required to read and accept the changes to continue your use of the CCD Platform or the Services.

It is important that the personal data we hold about you (and, if applicable, the care recipient if this is not you) is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data, or that of the care recipient to whom we provide care services, further to our contract with you, changes during our relationship with you.

Our CCD Platform may, from time to time, contain links to and from sites of our supplier networks, advertisers and affiliates. Please note that these third-party sites and any services that may be accessible through them have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies or for any personal data that may be collected through those sites or services. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to those sites or use those services.

We will be processing your personal data, namely the personal data of the person who accesses our website, and/or logs onto our CCD Platform, either as a potential client or client or as a Caregiver ('CCD Partner'), and, where the client is not the intended care recipient, the personal data of the care recipient as well.  These people are all part of our CCD Community and we will also be processing the personal data of some or all of the following people;

"other Community members" where this means members of the care recipient's family (to whom we have been introduced via the CCD Platform) and our staff;

"Family Users" the client will be invited to designate certain family members of the care recipient who will then be given access to the "Family Hub", a secure area on the Platform where such family members can share information relating to the care recipient.  It is the responsibility of each designated family member to keep their password details secure and immediately notify us of any losses or breach.   Each Family User will have to accept this Privacy Policy and the Platform Agreement to access the Platform.

Each Client confirms in the Platform Agreement that where s/he is not the recipient of the Care Services the Client has obtained the consent of the recipient of the Care Services to share personal data as set out in this Privacy Policy.

This will depend on who you are and why you are using the CCD Platform.  We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you as follows:

We do not process any financial data about our clients or care recipients.  (Payment information is given to the relevant third-party merchant.)

We do not hold any Client payment information. The CCD Platform does not have access to the Client's full card information at any point, only the Client’s name, type of card being used for payment, the last 4 digits of the long card number, the expiry date and the address to which the card is issued. STRIPE share with us an ID number and a fingerprint data number which they individually allocate to each Client.

We explain these categories of data below [See Section 23 – Description of Categories of Personal Data].

We also collect, use and share aggregated data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated data could be derived from your personal data but is not considered personal data in law as this data will not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. For example, we may aggregate your usage data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific Platform feature. However, if we combine or connect aggregated data with your personal data so that it can directly or indirectly identify you, we treat the combined data as personal data which will be used in accordance with this privacy policy.

We do collect certain types of Special Categories of Personal Data, namely health data about the care recipient, and pseudonymised biometric data.

We do not collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.

We use cookies and/or other tracking technologies to distinguish you from other users of our website and the CCD Platform and to remember your preferences. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you use the CCD Platform and also allows us to improve the CCD Platform. We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to do so. Most commonly we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

We will only send you direct marketing communications by email or text if we have your consent or we have a legitimate interest to do so. You have the right to withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us.

We will get your express opt-in consent before we share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes.

When you choose to provide us with your personal data, we may also need to share your personal data with the third parties set out below, for the purposes set out in the table "Purposes for which we will use your personal data".  (Where we do not have another legal basis for sharing your personal data with these third parties we will ask for your consent.)

Whenever we transfer your personal data out of the UK, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by ensuring at least one of the following safeguards is implemented:

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Any payment transactions carried out by us or our chosen third-party provider of payment processing services will be encrypted using Secured Sockets Layer technology. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password that enables you to access certain parts of our CCD Platform, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way.

We will collect and store personal data on your Device using application data caches and browser web storage (including HTML5) and other technology.

Certain Services include social networking, chat room or forum features. Ensure when using these features that you do not submit any personal data that you do not want to be seen, collected or used by other users.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator when we are legally required to do so.

The retention periods will vary for different types of your personal data.

By law we have to keep basic information about our customers (including Contact, Identity, Financial and Transaction Data) for six years after they cease being customers for tax purposes.

Regulatory laws require us to keep certain information for 7 years after we cease supplying a care recipient with care services.

In some circumstances you can ask us to delete your data: see Section 19 Your legal rights below for further information.

In some circumstances we will anonymise your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes, in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.

In the event that you do not use the Platform for a period of 24 months then we will treat the account as expired and your personal data may be deleted unless you contact us to let us know we should keep your information on file.

You also have the right to ask us not to continue to process your personal data for marketing purposes.

"Caregiver"/"CC Partner" is the professional, supplier of Care Services who is supervised by us and who is using our CCD Platform to advertise and sell their Care Services, and who has entered into a contract with us to meet our Minimum Standards and who will provide a care recipient with care services on the terms set out in the Caregiver Contract

"Client" means the person who uses the CCD Platform to purchase Care Services, who may or may not be the recipient of the Care Services and who is over 18.

Lawful basis means Consent, or Legitimate Interest or Performance of Contract or Comply with a Legal Obligation as further defined below:

Platform Agreement means the agreement between Chime Care Limited and clients for care services purchased via the CCD Platform.

Services means any of the services accessible through the CCD Platform.

External third parties

Service providers such as the CC Partners based in the UK, payment merchants based in Ireland and IT service providers and system administration providers, based in USA each of whom acts as processors.

Professional advisers acting as processors or controllers including lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers based in the UK who provide consultancy, banking, legal, insurance and accounting services.

HM Revenue and Customs, regulators and other authorities acting as processors or controllers based in the UK who require reporting of processing activities in certain circumstances.

You have the right to:
